The National Archives and Records Administrationrequires the service of a cultural-heritage imaging specialist to provide multispectral images for certain records of exceptionally high significance. Multispectral imaging (MSI) and related optical and numerical techniques of image capture and processing are required to document and analyze records of unique value to the American people. In addition to the imaging of these records, NARA requires that the MSI specialist contractor provide consultancy to NARA staff to understand the concepts, methods, strengths and weaknesses, and practicalities of utilizing MSI within the current repertoire of science and imaging tools.
