Sources are sought for a company that can design, procure components and equipment, fabricate, assemble, test, deliver, and oversee the installation of (4) Heat Exchangers at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). These (4) Heat Exchangers are in support of, and as part of, four (4) Cooling Water Systems. They are located underground in drift 102. They are welded plate and block type Heat Exchangers for the U1a Complex Enhancement Project (UCEP). The Heat Exchangers shall cool water located on their hot side, using chilled glycol/water solution on their cold side, as indicated on the Data Sheets. This is a new installation. Interested parties are invited to respond to this announcement by providing the following information: Company Name and address Point of Contact Information (name, phone, email) Capability statement demonstrating ability to deliver the heat exchangers Four recently completed similar deliveries, include project name, location, contact name and phone number, and in service date. The Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is a U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) installation, operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (CONTRACTOR), comprising approximately 3,561 square kilometers (1,375 square miles) of federally owned land located in southeastern Nye County, Nevada. Located approximately 105 kilometers (65 miles) northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, the NNSS is accessed from U.S. Highway 95, which roughly forms the southern boundary of the site. Heat Exchangers should be in general conformance to the performance stated in the attached data sheets: DRAWING NUMBER TITLE DS-CCW-HX-801-SSN CCW?HX?801 Cooling Water System 3 (CWS3) Heat Exchanger Data Sheet DS-CCW-HX-802-SSN CCW?HX?802 Cooling Water System 1 (CWS1) Heat Exchanger Data Sheet DS-CCW-HX-803-SSN CCW?HX?803 Cooling Water System 2 (CWS2) Heat Exchanger Data Sheet DS-CWS4-HX-901-SSN CWS4?HX?901 Cooling Water System 4 (CWS4) Heat Exchanger Data Sheet As currently planned, procurement would be for Four (4) welded plate and block type Heat Exchangers (including welded plate pack, bolted block assembly, gaskets, baffles, supports and connections) All equipment for site installation and testing Replacement parts for one year of service including sealants, gaskets and any other part called out for repair or replacement in the MANFUFACTURERs Operations and Maintenance manual. Installation support at NNSS. Surface and Subsurface Conditions: The Heat Exchangers will be located underground in mined drifts but may be exposed to surface conditions during STORAGE. The subsurface elevation is roughly 3,000 feet, and the dry bulb temperature ranges from approximately 40F to 90F. The surface elevation is roughly 4,000 feet, and the dry bulb temperature ranges from below freezing to approximately 110F. The subsurface is accessed by either the U1h Shaft (primary) or the U1a Shaft (secondary), with weight and dimensional limitations described below: Shaft Load Dimensions1 Load Weight U1h Cage 10 feet long x 6 feet wide x 12 feet high 12,000 lbs without counterweight 20,000 lbs. with 8,000 lbs counterweight U1h under Cage 6 feet long x 6 feet wide x 20 feet high 6,000 lbs U1a Cage 4 feet deep x 4 feet wide x 9 feet high 5,000 lbs U1a under Cage Nominally 20 inches diameter x 20 feet high 2,000 lbs U1a Line of Sight Compartment Nominally 7 feet long x 7 feet wide - (irregular shape) Limited by capacity of external crane (On-site NNSS crane ~ 25,000 lbs) Note 1: Maximum equipment or skid dimensions to allow placement inside drift is restricted to 120 Long x 66 Wide x 111 High.
