This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Access to installation is gained by establishing communications with vessel point of contact above. Description of Problem: While underway conducting morning underway checks SF noticed the JASTRAM steering system was not operating as designed. Steering system for the main rudder during follow-up mode would sally from left full rudder to right full rudder without helm commands in both bridge and local control. Flanking rudder works in non-follow up control only. Work to be performed: Jastram qualified technicians to troubleshoot the entire steering system and provide CFR. No additional parts or labor is authorized for this service. Contractor must submit a Condition Found Report to the assigned USCG purchasing agent and receive written approval from this agent prior to obligating any additional funding for additional parts or labor.
